WASTE TO ENERGY
Sustainability
Sustainability | Waste to Energy | Turning Waste into Opportunity
At Steamhouse India Limited, sustainability isn’t just a goal — it’s a responsibility. Our commitment to the environment drives us to innovate and adopt solutions that promote a circular economy. By harnessing waste-to-energy technology, we transform Municipal Solid Waste Residue (MSRW), Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), and other renewable fuels into clean energy, reducing environmental impact while meeting industrial steam needs.
Pioneering Waste-to-Steam Solutions
We are proud to announce the commissioning of our first Waste-to-Steam boiler in Vapi. In this project, non-recyclable plastic waste from paper mills is now converted into steam. This steam is distributed to nearby industries, providing them with an efficient, sustainable energy solution while helping them avoid the need for individual boilers. As a result, industries benefit from reduced capital costs, minimal space requirements, and simplified compliance with regulatory formalities.
This initiative not only addresses industrial steam demands but also tackles the pressing challenge of managing non-recyclable industrial waste, offering a cleaner, greener future.
Scaling Up Waste-to-Steam Infrastructure
Looking ahead, Steamhouse aims to scale up our Waste-to-Steam infrastructure. We plan to set up additional boilers powered by renewable fuels such as MSW-RDF, textile chindi, and other alternative resources. This will enable us to continue turning industrial waste into a powerful, sustainable resource while supporting industries with cleaner, cost-effective energy.
Partnership with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation
In a significant step forward, Steamhouse India Limited has been awarded a work order by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation for the design, build, erection, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of a 300 TPD capacity Municipal Solid Waste to Steam Plant.
Benefits
01
Reduced Air Pollution
- Deployment of advanced APCM systems like ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator – Dry)last control particulate matter.
- SCADA-based automated operationof boilers ensures consistent performance with minimal emissions.
- Operations managed by experienced engineers, ensuring adherence to environmental norms and efficient process control.
02
Reduction in fugitive emission
- Scientific and automated handling of coal, coal ash, and other solid fuels — enabling controlled movement and storage to minimize dust and airborne particles.
- Productive utilization of fly ash for eco-friendly applications, contributing to resource circularity and environmental compliance.
03
Simplified Monitoring for Pollution Control Authorities
- Real-time connectivitythrough CEMS (Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems) enables live monitoring of SOx, NOx, and chimney visuals.
- Enables centralized oversight, allowing pollution control boards to monitor just 1 or 2 common boilersrather than dozens across individual industries.
- Supports regulatory compliance and timely reporting, reducing administrative burden.
04
Enhanced Safety Within the Industrial Estate
- Decommissioning of unsafe and outdated boilers, ensuring higher safety standards across the estate.
- Elimination of coal storage and fire hazards, significantly reducing operational risks.
- Steamhouse operations are overseen by qualified engineers and trained operators, ensuring strict safety protocols are followed at every step.
05
Reduction in foreign currency loss
- Efficient boilers
- Eliminating the use of imported gas
- The industry will be free of the responsibilities of two government departments, & also new industries can start businesses with reduced investment in space and boiler machinery
06
Enhanced Employee Well-being and Safety
- Safe Working Conditions through SCADA Automation: Our SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system provides real-time monitoring and control, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the boilers. This automation reduces human intervention, minimizing the risk of accidents and enhancing safety for all employees.
