WASTE TO ENERGY
Sustainability
Through the waste to energy technology, Steamhouse is pioneering a circular economy by using MSRW and RDF as input fuel. This will drastically reduce the carbon footprint by eliminating the dependence on fossil fuels. Keeping COP26 in mind, Steamhouse also plans to shift to 50% biofuel by 2050. SteamHouse has already begun with the transition by mixing 10% of biofuel in each of its operational sites.
Benefits
01
Reduced Air Pollution
- Use of proper APCM like ESP (Electrostatic precipitator DRY)
- SCADA Based auto operation of boilers
- Management by proficiency engineers
02
Reduction in fugitive emission
- Scientific and automatic handling of coal and coal ash controlled movement
& storage of coal - Productive use of fly ash
03
Easy to monitor for the state/central pollution control boards
- Online connectivity of CEMS, SOx, NOx, and visual data of chimneys.
- The authorities have to monitor 1 or 2 boilers instead of 100.
04
Increased safety in the estate
- Removal of all unsafe (not up to the mark) Boilers
- Avoidance of coal storage and fire
- Management by our qualified people and experienced/operator staff
05
Reduction in foreign currency loss
- Efficient boilers (thermal efficiency is around 83% compared to 50%- 65%)
- Eliminating the use of imported gas
- The industry will be free of the responsibilities of two government departments, & also new industries can start businesses with reduced investment in space and boiler machinery
06
Increased humanity
- Safe working conditions by SCADA automation
- Auto firing & auto ash handling provide hygienic conditions to workers
